Marengo Academy Longhorns
Chris Burford
Chris Burford is a 1986 graduate of Wilcox Academy. He played football, basketball, baseball and tennis at the school. Burford is also a 1990 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Finance.
Burford became the head football coach at Marengo Academy in 1997 where his four teams finished with a 25-19 record and three playoff appearances.
He returned home to Wilcox Academy in 2001 as the headmaster and football coach. His thirteen teams went 73-73 and won a AISA state championship in 2003 with a 12-1 record.
Coach Burfords overall record is 98-92 after 17 years as a head football coach.
